Travis Pickens is a trained mediator and has been a civil litigation lawyer for over twenty-two years in private practice. His practice began in 1984 with Musser & Bunch, P.C. in Oklahoma City, where he generally practiced oil and gas law. He was named a Director in 1989. He later established his own firm as a solo practitioner handling a wide variety of civil litigation in addition to his oil and gas cases. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Language Arts (English) with special distinction in 1980 from the University of Oklahoma. He received a Juris Doctor Degree with distinction in 1984 from the University Of Oklahoma College of Law. Travis’s areas of practice include mediation, oil and gas, professional ethics, insurance, family law (collaborative) and work as a guardian ad litem for children. He maintains the Martindale Hubbell highest Preeminent Attorney Recognition (AV) rating for skills and ethics based on professional peer reviews.

From August 2009 to January 2015, Travis served as Ethics Counsel for the Oklahoma Bar Association. In this position he guided lawyers as to ethics issues and compliance with the Oklahoma Rules of Professional Conduct, presented programs for lawyers’ and paralegals’ continuing legal education, monitored and trained Diversion Program participants, prepared articles on ethics and professionalism for seminars and the Oklahoma Bar Journal and served as an OBA liaison to the OBA’s Professionalism, Lawyers Helping Lawyers Committees, as well as the Legal Ethics Advisory Panel. Travis also served for several years on the Judicial Advisory Committee for the Oklahoma City Municipal Courts.
